Join U.S. Forest Service Staff for a hike on the Uwharrie Trail up to the summit of Little Long Mountain.
Meet: Joe Moffitt Trailhead off Thayer Rd (35.507548, -79.952986)
Time: 10:30 am
Duration: We’ll hike out and back for a total of 1.7 miles and will return to the trailhead around 12-12:30 pm.
Trail conditions: Expect moderate intensity due to some steep and rocky sections of trail.
Darren Stebbins (Forester) and Noah Clements (Biological Science Technician) with Uwharrie National Forest will be leading the hike. Topics for discussion will include fire ecology, forestry, invasive species management, and wildlife conservation.
